Articles
A collection of my shorter insights in the form of articles:
Price Prediction Markets: Traditional financial oversight and self-regulation often fail to prevent fraud and financial instability. Price Prediction Markets leverage decentralized adversarial oversight by allowing participants to bet on future asset prices, creating a real-time, market-driven early warning system. Unlike event-based prediction markets, Price Prediction Markets offer continuous, granular price forecasting, improving price discovery, transparency, and risk assessment. These markets could complement existing financial tools like derivatives, short selling, and credit default swaps by providing more accessible, dynamic, and transparent financial insights.
Protectionism, Tariffs and Jobs: Tariffs and other protectionist measures are unlikely to succeed because they target the wrong problem. The real threat to jobs is not foreign competition but automation, which eliminates roles faster than new ones can emerge. Meanwhile, the primary force for job creation—innovation—is blocked by the patent system, preventing industries from adapting and generating new opportunities. Without addressing these deeper structural issues, protectionism is little more than a temporary distraction from the real economic challenges.
Mean Price and Per-Minute reporting: An overreliance on Last Price in financial markets and society leads to resource misallocation, volatility, and market manipulation risks. Using Mean Price and Per-Minute reporting offers greater transparency, sophistication, flexibility, composability, and resistance to manipulation.
